Service Offerings
CAGI delivers
a variety of programs and services focusing on four strategic areas. Collectively,
these services provide a strong foundation for building individual self-reliance
and community wealth. We promote holistic development for clients of every age and
life circumstance. Our ultimate desire is to help empower everyone in our community
to travel the road of life with dignity and purpose, energized by the basic freedoms
that the Constitution defines as the best of the American dream:

creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness.”
Energy Assistance
Our variety of Weatherization and Energy Assistance services are designed to create and maintain a safe, economical, energy-efficient
living environment. These efforts provide life-saving interventions, as well as
valuable homeowner education for residents throughout the community.
Family Development And Education
The Boone County Child Development Academy provides a nurturing environment that
promotes educational, emotional and social growth for children, ages 2 through 12.
CAGI ’s Foster Grandparents program is an empowering forum for seniors to remain
active in their community by providing love, care and support to children with special
needs.
Health/Nutrition
The Mobile Food Pantry involves a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank to provide
groceries each month at the corporate headquarters for clients in need.
The Lead Reduction Assistance Service promotes community health through spotlighting
the dangers of lead poisoning and providing financial assistance to qualifying participants
for the reduction or abatement of the causes of lead poisoning in their homes.
In 2005, CAGI held the first of its annual Health Fairs at its Indianapolis East
office location. Community residents were provided with preventive and diagnostic
health services: prostate and breast cancer screenings, vision testing, kidney evaluations,
among other services. The second health fair was conducted in August, 2006,
providing similar services to the community and CAGI clients.
Housing
CAGI offers Emergency Home Repair
services to qualifying clients in Marion County including roof repair/replacement,
gutters, electrical wiring, plumbing, floor, and foundation repairs.
The Home Rehabilitation Service combines funding from the city and state to implement
renovations of the homes of senior citizens and low-income families.
Weatherization Assistance provides qualifying clients with furnace repair/replacement,
furnace safety checks, and attic and water heater insulation to minimize air infiltration
and prevent heat loss in homes.
Our Homeless Housing Service provides homeless
families: educational opportunities, credit debt restructuring, and the establishment
of a savings plan (escrow). The savings plan (escrow) monies may be used toward
the down payment of their own homes. Housing Counseling clients are
counseled in the areas of budgeting, first-time home buyers and reverse mortgages,
loss mitigation and foreclosure prevention, and credit repair.
CAGI is also pursuing
several larger-scale affordable housing and commercial real estate development projects.
Our goal in this area is to be a recognized leader in delivering programs that build
community wealth.
