Economic Enhancement Initiatives
The cornerstone of achieving self-sufficiency and self-reliance rests squarely on improving the economic viability of the household. The greater the household’s economic success, the greater the probability it will become and remain self-sufficient. In furtherance of affording the benefits of economic enhancement for our clients, CAGI has undertaken the following services:
- Action Institute, to provide training and educational opportunities to CAGI staff, clients, vendors and other Community Action Agencies (CAA’s) in the design and execution of programmatic offerings.
- Business Development Loan Program, to provide small businesses and startups owned by eligible clients with the opportunity not only to obtain financing for equipment and services in support of their businesses, but also to foster their empowerment by providing them with management training and business skills
- Family Development, to offer long-term case management services to eligible clients and provide them with an organized approach to overcoming the obstacles to their self-sufficiency and economic success
- Financial Literacy, which provides eligible clients with a fundamental understanding of banking, money management
- CAGI Resource Center, which offers eligible clients training in the use of office productivity software and improves their prospects for gainful employment at a living wage
- Transitional Housing, which in addition to meeting an immediate need for shelter for the family, exposes the household to the Family Development process and implements a savings program through which the family can prepare for additional steps toward self-sufficiency
