CAGI provides its clients the ability to secure and retain safe affordable housing in many ways. Two programmatic endeavors which directly address this important issue are:

• Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8 ), which provides a subsidy for eligible clients who need assistance in meeting the cost of safe, affordable rental housing alternatives and
• CAGI’s Housing Counseling/Foreclosure Prevention services, which are designed to:

Forestall the loss of the family’s real estate property, which is typically its most valuable monetary and personal asset

Provide counseling on debt, credit, and pre-purchase considerations to limit the likelihood that the family will end up in foreclosure, short sale or loan modification proceedings
