SCOPE OF SUPERVISION: None
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Weatherization and Home Repair Program

POSITION SUMMARY: The Energy Auditor assesses homes in Marion County for estimated
energy efficiency improvements to be performed, conducts follow-up inspections. Completes
Energy Audit services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and weatherization program
guidelines.

ADDITIONAL POSITION SUMMARY: Conducts client interviews, performs documentation
review, evaluates home for health and safety, concerns, establishes thermal boundaries, conducts
pressure diagnostics, project management, contractor oversight, monitoring various scale
residential projects from start to completion, reporting and managing cost-to-budget, among
others. Our Energy Auditors are responsible for the approval, management and execute quality
control over contractors and services from start to completion.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Self-starter, works with minimal level of supervision.
Employee knows and understands work requirements, completes tasks without direction.
Employee has independent decision-making opportunities. Keeps Housing Manager apprised of
work progress and/or project creep.

RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assess home energy efficiency and monitor the quality of
weatherization improvements done to clients' homes; ensure compliance with both the work
order estimate and department guidelines. 2. Performs and interprets all required diagnostic
testing prior to weatherization work being done. 3. Performs safety inspection on all combustion
appliances. 4. Prepares work orders for all program components to be completed and enters all
required data into computer. Completes job specification sheets, determines the materials
required to complete the job, and communicates details of work order to contractor/work crew. 5.
Maintains production goals; understands and complies with Energy Efficiency Standards,
completes production paperwork including, but not limited to: mileage, time recorders, gas
receipts, quality control paperwork). 6. Ensures all required paperwork is completed by client
and coordinates with appropriate department managers to ensure work is done in compliance
with program standards. 7. Ability to enter crawl spaces 18” to 24” in dimension. 8. Must obtain
Weatherization Certifications within 9 Months and 45 Days of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School degree or equivalent/Vocational Certificate Preferred 2.
Working knowledge of housing inspections, construction, energy saving improvements. 3. Must
obtain Weatherization Certifications within 9 Months and 45 Days of employment. 4. Valid
Drivers License and good driving record driving record compatible with organization’s insurance
requirements and reliable transportation.
